 Golden Rule Ft. Myers

Welcome to the Golden Rule of Fort Myers, Florida. Our community was winter home to Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. Mr Edison quoted, "A small good deed could save a great life". We might not know the person next to us, or someone on a needs list, but if we think of everyone as a possible Edison, your small good deed COULD save a great life.

Everyone knows the Golden Rule but it takes understanding, passion and commitment to practice it in our lives. Fort Myer's citizens are community minded and helping the many charitable organizations here for events and holidays. In keeping with the Golden Rule spirit, we proudly present an inclusive resource web site for how we can accomplish a good deed or two every day.. You can search for community resources, register an unmet "Need" or sign up to "Be a Helper". Golden Rule Ft. Myers is dedicated to facilitate meeting the needs of the community with the "helpers" who register on this website.

The ethic of reciprocity or "The Golden Rule" is a fundamental moral principle which simply means "treat others as you would like to be treated." It is arguably the most essential basis for the modern concept of human rights.
